Swimming Pools

SWIMMING POOL POLICY

Requests for the filling of swimming pools by the use of fire hydrants will require the following:

The pool must be located within the service area of the Kenosha Water Utility.

An inspection of the location is to be made by the Supervisor of Meter Services or his representative to determine if the Water Utility has a fire hydrant within a reasonable distance (250' or less), and to check for possible conflicts or obstacles.

Due to possible safety hazards, the Kenosha Water Utility will not fill swimming pools by the use of fire hydrants if a major thoroughfare would have to be crossed. (e.g. Sheridan Road, 75th Street, Highway #31).

Kenosha Water Utility must receive requests 48 hours in advance of the pool filling.

Kenosha Water Utility employees must supervise the delivery of the water.

If the above conditions are met, the charge for filling swimming pools, payable in advance, is as follows:

During normal working hours: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m Service Charge - $160.00 + volume*

After 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays Service Charge - $233.00 + volume*

Swimming pools will not be filled on Sundays or Holidays.

*A charge for the volume of water used will be billed at $1.49 per 100 cubic feet.

NOTE: An extra fee will be charged if an appointment is missed or if the pool is not ready when water utility personnel arrive.

No charge for an appointment canceled 24 hours in advance.
